Encoder error at X9 / X6 (C0034 = 1)

What does it mean?

Encoder fault on X9 or X6/1, X6/2 (when C0034 = 1).

Common causes

• Cable interrupted, pin X9/8 not connected, or the current signal at X6/1, X6/2 is < 2 mA.

How to fix it

• Check the cable for open circuit
• apply 5 V to pin X9/8 or switch off the monitoring (C0587 = 3).

After troubleshooting: de-energise the device completely (disconnect the 24 V supply and discharge the DC bus) before opening the covers.
