Absolute value encoder (initialisation / communication)
What does it mean?
Sd7: the absolute value encoder must be initialised. Sd8: initialisation or communication of the absolute value encoder at X8 fails (inconsistent / no data).
Common causes
- The absolute value encoder needs initialisation, the X8 cable is loose/broken, the encoder rotates during mains switching, or the SinCos encoder is defective.
How to fix it
- Initialise the encoder
- make sure the X8 cable is tightened
- ensure the encoder does not rotate during mains switching
- replace the encoder if defective. After Sd7, always repeat the rotor position adjustment.
After troubleshooting: de-energise the device completely (disconnect the 24 V supply and discharge the DC bus) before opening the covers.
